Description
AWC Magazine – Issue 180
ISSUE TEASER:
Taking a break from his usual window cleaning safety tips, safety expert Gary Mauer opens this AWC issue by discussing window cleaning in the news. Mauer notes that there have been a few near misses in the news in addition to more “window cleaner on a ledge” viral videos. Finally, he reviews all the incidents, both positive and negative.
Chief correspondent Bob Lawrence questions if window cleaners are getting paid at inadequate levels because new start-ups are rebooting the pricing model or because groups of uncertified and unlicensed cleaners are taking advantage of consumers by using their low prices (and minimal expertise).
EMV – which stands for EuroPay, MasterCard, and Visa – is a new global standard for cards equipped with a small integrated chip used to authenticate transactions. Because of this switch, window cleaners who accept credit or debit card payments are now liable for damages if they don’t accept the new chipped cards.
