Description
AWC Magazine – Issue 176
ISSUE TEASER:
Opening this issue, the International Window Cleaning Association (IWCA) announces a new certification fee structure. The reasoning for the new structure is to more effectively serve the industry and protect the safety of window cleaners. IWCA recommends candidates attend a classroom review session in conjunction with the regional safety training sessions followed by a proctored exam.
As a window cleaning employer, your job is to provide a safe workplace for your employees, especially during the extreme cold. Safety expert Gary Mauer covers a variety of cold weather topics and tips such as cold stresses, how to dress, antifreeze solutions, and how to schedule your workday during the wintertime. Mauer recommends pairing inside work with outdoor work while the weather is harsh.
Today’s business landscape presents a multitude of communication vehicles and marketing platforms. AWC contributor Anne Richter presents tips to help you more effectively reach an audience of all ages. Richter covers veterans, boomers, and millennials and talks about what they like, don’t like, and their characteristics.
