AWC Magazine – Issue 171

ISSUE TEASER:

Chief Correspondent of the American Window Cleaner magazine Bob Lawrence opens this issue with an International Window Cleaning Association (IWCA) convention preview. The show is being held in Memphis, Tennessee. Lawrence says there will be a larger focus on the accomplishments and advancements of our “forefathers” in addition to some historical displays.

A system of product labeling and material safety data sheets for hazardous materials has been in place since 1994. Safety expert Gary Mauer briefly highlights the changes of the Hazard Communication Standard over the years. He addresses the changes since 1994, and then since 2012. OSHA is rumored to make more changes and Mauer recommends keeping an eye out.

Several years before 2014, AWC predicted the road to economic recovery in the United States would be slow and arduous. AWC contributor Anne Richter touches upon the unemployment issue, the global picture, a review of 2013, and her thoughts on the Fed. She concludes by predicting the economy to be driven by business fundamentals rather than government intervention.
