AWC Magazine – Issue 155
ISSUE TEASER:
“A competent person must train your staff for aerial lift work,” implores safety columnist Ron Friman. He explains the qualifications required to become an aerial lift worker and the machine maintenance and inspections that go along with it. Friman recommends locking the machine and removing the keys from the premises to guard against unauthorized use.
The International Sanitary Supply Association’s 2012 ISSA/Interclean North America “exceeded expectations” with more than 9,000 buyers and 623 exhibitors. Chief correspondent Bob Lawrence touches upon some of the major exhibitors such as Ettore and Zephyr in addition to exploring the current state of the window cleaning industry.
Policy still rules the day hypothesizes AWC contributor Anne Richter in terms of the 2013 economic outlook. Richter goes into detail about a potential democrat-republican compromise, the housing market, inflation trends, and the global picture. She concludes by saying policymakers in the US have the ability to drive or quash economic momentum; all we can do is wait.
