Description
AWC Magazine – Issue 188
ISSUE TEASER:
Learn about Michael Draper, the new owner, and publisher of the American Window Cleaner magazine. Draper began window cleaning in 1989, started a family, moved to a new town in Illinois, and began a new window cleaning company. Norman Finegold and Karen Grinter, the previous directors of AWC, decided to move onto other ventures since managing the magazine beginning in 2004.
However, safety expert Gary Mauer isn’t going anywhere. He has his usual safety article, this time focusing on gutter cleaning. Mauer emphasizes although gutter cleaning accidents aren’t “glamorous” and don’t draw large crowds like high-rise cleaning incidents, they are just as dangerous and just as important. He covers ladder safety, rooftop fall protection, and the possible use of fall arrests.
Things go a lot easier when potential lenders, investors, and suppliers can decide to take a risk based on a window cleaning business’s credit history and capability of repaying its obligations. AWC contributor Mark E. Battersby guides those who have trouble getting a loan or building up their business credit. He lists several strategies to gain recognition from credit reporting agencies.
